Client Ronald McDonald House of Durham
The new Ronald McDonald House of Durham was designed to give families of seriously ill children who travel from around the world to receive specialized care at Duke Children's Hospital a place to call "home" for up to a year at a time. This 40,000 square foot facility includes 55 total rooms, 28 of which are new multi-room suites. With this addition, this Ronald McDonald House became one of the largest on the east coast, doubling the number of families served.
Our advance planning work with the Ronald McDonald House staff, board, and families produced a comprehensive yet accessible document that will guide design and operational decisions for years to come.
Each project listed above exemplifies one or more of the learning, wellness, and recreational qualities that are the focus of our designed spaces.
