Hill Street Park Center

Hill Street Park Center

Raleigh, NC

Client City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation

Developed in collaboration with landscape architect Lappas + Havener's master plan for 16 acres of wooded parkland, the Hill Street Park Center is sited to preserve as much of the surrounding forest as possible. Distinguished by its distinctive form and naturally daylit interior spaces, the building contains three meeting rooms to accommodate a wide variety of neighborhood assemblies, programmed activities, and events.

Sustainable design forms a strong part of every aspect of this facility, from its planted green roof, visible upon approach to the facility, to its energy reduction strategies. Walking trails provide recreational and educational activities for all ages in the surrounding woodland.
